Fees

How much do sessions cost?

A 50 minute session costs $205 for adults + children. There are limited appointments available at a concession rate of $175 for Low Income/HCC holders. Unfortunately Rachael is not able to provide Bulk Billing Services.

Rachael’s fee is significantly lower that the Australian Psychological Society 2023-2024 Recommended Schedule of Fees which is $300 per session - How much does seeing a psychologist cost? | APS (psychology.org.au)

Do rebates apply for holistic health services?

Unfortunately, Medicare Rebates do not currently apply for holistic health services and the fees will be slightly higher due to the additional session time, energy, training + preparation required to provide these services.

Will I get a rebate from Medicare?

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan/ Referral from your GP, you will receive a Medicare rebate of $96.65 for 10 sessions per calendar year.

What do my session fees cover?

Psychology session fees are calculated on the assumption that 50 minutes of therapeutic time will involve an additional minimum 30 minutes associated non-billable professional time. Including session preparation, reflections, note taking + administrative tasks.

Can I use Private Health Insurance to cover session fees?

Yes. However you will need to pay for your session fee upfront. You will then receive an invoice and claim your entitlement directly through your insurer.

Please check with your PHI provider to confirm they subsidise Psychology sessions + note that Rachael may first need to apply to be an approved service provider for your individual fund.

DISCOVERY + CONNECTION SESSIONS

Are a 30 minute introductory conversation, brief overview of your reason for seeking support + a breathwork, mindfulness + visualisation journey. Homework + integration tasks are provided. This allows you to get a feel for Rachael’s therapeutic style + consider in what capacity you would like to work with her; psychology or shamanic sessions. The cost of a discovery + connection session is $50.00 + it is conducted via Zoom only.

How are payments made?

Payments are taken via Square. Your credit card details will also be requested prior to your first appointment, to be held on file for missed or cancelled sessions which fall within the cancellation policy. Invoices will be sent to you via email 24 hours prior to your appointment time which can be paid via a secure link, to save time during your appointment.

Are there after-hours fees + surcharges?

Yes, any appointments running past 5pm attract a surcharge of $15 per session. Saturday appointments are 50 minutes in length for a fee of $225. Please note there are limited appointments available for after-hour sessions.

Cancellation Policy

When you make an appointment, the whole appointment is reserved for you. Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or postpone your appointment. If you do not give at least 48 business hours (2 full weekdays) notice you will be charged a $96.65 administration fee. Less than 24 business hours (1 full weekday) notice or for any missed appointments you will be charged your usual full session fee, as well as any after-hours fees applicable. For Monday appointments I ask that you notify me first thing on the Friday morning preceding the weekend to avoid the full fee, noting you will still be charged the $96.65 administration fee.

This policy is in place as I am a private practitioner/small business + late cancellations/no shows do not allow the opportunity for me to refill the appointment. Cancellation fees are asked to be paid within 24 hours following your cancelled or missed appointment or they will then be withdrawn from the debit/credit card you have registered on file + processing fee. Please note Medicare Rebate cannot be applied to cancelled/no show appointments.
